Want to make more money from your blog in 2024? It’s easier than you think. Here are 10 ways to increase your blogging income in 2024…
Here’s a question to which I am 99.99% sure I know the answer to…
Would you like to make more money from your blog in 2024?
OK, I’m going to make a wild assumption and guess you answered yes!
But the million dollar question (kinda literally!) is HOW?
Well, if you’d like to know the answer… you’re in luck, because that’s what this blog post is all about!
Here are 10 ways to increase your blogging income in 2024…
1. Do keyword research
No matter how you monetize your blog, one of the best ways to increase your blogging income is to increase your blog traffic.
And one of the best ways to do that is to do keyword research.
Good keyword research will help you identify your Gold Nugget Keywords: the blog post topics that will drive the most traffic to your site.
Keyword research is a great productivity tool too.
Instead of writing dozens of blog posts in the hope that one will ‘do well’…
If you do keyword research first, and identify those Gold Nugget Keywords, you can write fewer blog posts and get more traffic… and therefore earn more money.
In other words you can work less and earn more!
Need help with this? You’re in luck!
I have recently written a full step-by-step guide to keyword research using my favourite keyword research tool – KeySearch.
Better still, you can get a whopping 30% off KeySearch using my exclusive discount coupon! Just use coupon code PB30 at the checkout.
This is great news if you don’t have a lot of budget for tools right now. Just get KeySearch for 1 month, using my discount coupon, and you can do all your keyword research for a whole year for less than $12!
That’s an investment that is likely to pay for itself, many times over, if you use it right!
2. Write more content
Want to know the one thing that you have control over that can massively increase your blogging traffic and income?
CONTENT!
There is a strong correlation between number of blog posts and average monthly income…
Statistics from The Blogging Income Survey
There are broadly 2 ways to boost your income with more content: the slow way and the fast way
The slow way is to keep on churning out 1 blog post a week… and gradually, over time, your traffic and income should increase – but that’s a long game, so you’ll need to be very patient!
The fast way is by doing The 30 Day Content Booster Challenge – this is a Bonus Course in SEO Jumpstart, but the basic idea is you:
- Do keyword research to find 30 Gold Nugget Keywords to target
- Ensure they are keywords that can be answered in a short-ish blog post (1000 words or so) and that don’t need a ton of research
- Every day for 30 days: write, edit and publish 1 blog post
Sound impossible? It’s totally possible if you follow the step-by-step process and tips in The 30 Day Content Booster Challenge!
And – if you do it right – it can have the most amazing effect on your traffic and income.
3. Boost your E-E-A-T
E-E-A-T stands for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust.
And while E-E-A-T is not technically a ranking factor, it’s something that Google’s algorithms seek to reward.
Which means, if you boost your E-E-A-T, you should see an increase in traffic… and therefore income.
But how do you do it?
Well, if you have SEO Jumpstart, there’s a whole Bonus Course dedicated to boosting your E-E-A-T

4. Add another revenue stream
But increasing your traffic is only one way of boosting your blogging income.
The other way is to increase the amount of money you earn PER PAGEVIEW.
This is usually expressed as your RPM. (RPM stands for Rate Per Mille and means ‘the amount you earn per 1,000 pageviews’.)
Well, it doesn’t take a genius to realise that adding an extra revenue stream will increase your RPM. In fact, The Blogging Income Survey showed that adding an additional revenue stream can significantly boost your RPM.
The survey data shows that bloggers who have only 1 revenue stream on average earn $23.20 per thousand pageviews whereas bloggers who have 5+ revenue streams on average earn $40+ per thousand pageviews.
Adding more revenue streams can also help to future-proof your blog too.
5. Improve your affiliate marketing
Most bloggers do a pretty lousy job at affiliate marketing. They do what I call the ‘scattergun’ approach to affiliate marketing… That is, adding a link to an affiliate product every now and again whenever it occurs to them.
If you practice ‘scattergun’ affiliate marketing, you’ll most likely get a very low RPM from affiliate marketing.
If you want to boost your RPM, then you need to take a more strategic approach to affiliate marketing.
Learn how to do that in these 2 blog posts:
- A beginner’s guide to affiliate marketing for bloggers
- 19 easy ways to increase your affiliate income from your blog
However, it is worth bearing in mind that, for most bloggers, affiliate marketing – even when done well – does not deliver the highest RPMs.
Affiliate marketing is, after all, just another form of advertising… And the thing about advertising is that companies only use ads if they can earn more from ads than they put in… Which means if you have ads (or affiliate links) on your site… someone else is making more money from your traffic than you are!
6. Launch a digital product
So, how do you maximize the amount you earn per pageview?
By selling your own digital product!
The most recent Blogging Income Survey showed that the bloggers who were making the most money from each pageview were those who sold their own digital products.
In fact, the survey showed that, on average, bloggers who mainly monetize via digital products earn $365.94 per thousand pageviews, whereas bloggers who monetize via ads earn, on average, just $27.86 per thousand pageviews.

7. Do a better job of selling your digital product
One thing I hear quite often from bloggers is, ‘I made a digital product and it didn’t sell.’
But when I take a look at what they are doing, it becomes painfully clear what the problem is…
Typically they have a link or two to their product on their blog and maybe they mention it occasionally on their social media or in their newsletter… and that’s it.
Unfortunately that just doesn’t work for most digital products.
Hands down the best way to sell a digital product is via some kinds of ‘sales event’. This could be a launch or a flash sale, where you would typically send your email subscribers 5-10 emails over the course of about a week, showing different reasons why they need your product AND you give them some kind of deadline by which they have to buy – this could be a price increase, expiring bonuses or simply the product will be unavailable after the deadline.
But constantly running sales events like this is exhausting, it means your income is very unpredictable and, if you are always running flash sales, you will eventually devalue your product and future sales events will be less successful.
That’s why evergreen sales funnels are such a great sales tool… instead of constantly running launches and flash sales, you take all the good bits from live launches and automate it… Meaning you make consistent sales all year round ON AUTOPILOT!

8. Improve your email marketing
How many times have you heard the phrase ‘The money is in the list.’?
Or maybe you’ve heard that, ‘For every $1 you spend on email marketing, you’ll get $36 back.’?
Or perhaps you’ve heard that, ‘For every person on your list, you should be making $1 a month.’?
But maybe that doesn’t ring true for you?
If so, I have some good news and some bad news.
The bad news is it’s only possible if:
- You do email marketing well (most people don’t)
- You keep a clean list (you’re clearly not going to make $1 per subscriber per month if your list is full of dead wood)
- You sell a digital product (because of the higher RPMs)
The good news is, if you get those things right, $1 per subscriber, per month is very achievable.
And the bonus extra good news? If you get your email marketing right, you’ll give your SEO a boost too – so it’s a double whammy!
9. Improve your productivity
